CURRENT VOLUNTEER NEEDS

The theatre is looking for volunteers to work in the following areas:

Ushers!
Volunteer Ushers are responsible for carrying out many important functions of the theatre’s front-of-house operations. In many ways, the ushers are the foundation of house operations. At Long Beach Playhouse Usher makes our patrons feel welcome and comfortable when attending a performance and preserves the natural order of a theatrical environment by instituting the Long Beach Playhouse’s theatre policies. Usher’s are responsible for making and serving coffee and other refreshments, taking tickets, seating patrons, passing out programs, answering questions, performing house checks after a performance, and alerting the House Manager to any emergencies. Ushers that are a member of a regularly scheduled Usher Crew see every performance in both our Mainstage and Studio Theatres and are invited to special volunteer-only events.

Street Crew!
Long Beach Playhouse Street Crew serves to promote and expose the Long Beach Community to productions currently being showcased in both our Mainstage and Studio theatres through good old fashion leg work. You may come and pick up postcards/brochures yourself, and take them to your favorite coffee house, bar, library, community event, etc. Scheduled Street Crew outings are also occurring as special events occur monthly. T-shirts, buttons and exclusive gatherings/volunteer-only events will be available for all members of the LB Playhouse STREET CREW!
