RUN:  Dec. 7 – Dec. 22, 2019

Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays 8pm, Sundays at 2pm. Special performances on Wednesday and Sunday nights may be added for private parties and special events.

This is a community theater production.  Non-Equity.  There is no pay. 

AUDITION DATES:

Open Call: All Roles

Dates: Tues. October 15 & Wed. 16, 2019

Times: 7pm – 9pm

Location: Long Beach Playhouse  

Callbacks:

Date and Time: Thurs., October 17th, 7pm – 10pm, by invitation only.

REHEARSALS:

First Read-Through: Saturday, October 19th, 2019

Regular Rehearsal: Starting Oct. 21st, Monday – Thursdays, 7pm – 10pm, with possible Saturday morning rehearsals, 10am – 2pm

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

Bring headshot and resume. Auditions will consist of cold readings of the script.

SHORT SYNOPSIS:  

A Christmas Carol recounts the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, an elderly miser who is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come. After their visits, Scrooge is transformed into a kinder, gentler man.

CASTING THE FOLLOWING ROLES:

NOTE: We are looking to cast 10 – 12 actors.  Some actors may play multiple roles.

All ethnicities are encouraged to audition for all roles.

CHARLES DICKENS (M, 20+): The writer and narrator of the tale.  (Role requires a British accent. Comedic acting and strong improv skills a plus).

EBENEZER SCROOGE (M, 40+): An old grump who values business and profit over all else, and despises Christmas. (Role requires a British accent.)

BOB CRATCHIT: (M, 25+) A meek man with a family to look after. optimistic and kind. (Role requires a British accent.)

SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS PAST (SCP): (All ages and genders considered.) An innocent spirit who shows Scrooge his past. (Role requires a British accent.)

SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS PRESENT (SCP): (All ages and genders considered.) A highly charismatic ghost tied to the essence of Christmas day. (Role requires a British accent.)

FRED HOLLOWELL: (M, Look 19 – 30s) Ebenezer’s nephew. (Role requires a British accent.)

MRS. CRATCHIT: (F, 25+) Bob’s wife. strong and slightly feisty. (Role requires a British accent.)

MARTHA CRATCHIT: (F, Look 13-16) Oldest daughter of Bob and wife. (Role requires a British accent.)

PETER CRATCHIT: (M, Look 13-18) Eldest son of Bob and wife. (Role requires a British accent.)

YOUNGER CRATCHITS: (Any gender, Look 8-12,) Will play multiple roles. singing voice a plus. (Role requires a British accent.)

TINY TIM: (M, 6-12) A small sickly boy. singing voice a plus. (Role requires a British accent.)

JANET HOLLOWELL: (F, 19-30) Fred’s new wife. (Role requires a British accent.)

MRS. JEEVES: (F, All ages considred) Charity Solicitor. Will play multiple roles. (Role requires a British accent.)

MR. HOWELL: (M, All ages considered) Charity Solicitor. Will play multiple roles. (Role requires a British accent.)

JACOB MARLEY: (M, 40+) Ebenezer’s dead partner. (Role requires a British accent.)
